About
Daniel
Daniel Timothy Treacy is an actor and producer, as well as the founder of Hyperbole Productions, a Portland-based production company specializing in film. Fact.
Daniel cut his teeth performing standup and improvisation. He cultivated a small but enthusiastic following, including several local filmmakers during his time on stage. Over the next few years, Daniel then starred in multiple, award-winning short films, from the sweetly romanticized story of two cult-y Bob Dylan fans in a “Letter to Bob,” to the wildly irreverent horror-y comedy Bad Seed. More facts to come.
In addition to his acting talents, Daniel has found equal success as a producer. Daniel build a network which would allow him to start his own company, Hyperbole Productions, on the backs of other hard working Americans. For his first feature film, The Brain That Wouldn't Die, Daniel and co. managed to raise over $70,000 on Kickstarter from the pockets of folks that couldn't really afford it, making it the second highest successfully funded Portland-based narrative film project in all of the platform's history.
As soon as production on Brain had wrapped, Daniel set out to produce his company's next film, Road to Bob, a feature-length adaptation of Letter to Bob, both of which star Daniel in the lead role. Hyperbole's third feature, 1 Dead Dog starring Daniel with Mark Patton (Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and the eye opening LGBTQ documentary Scream Queen) acting alongside of him. Road to Bob, Brain That Wouldn't Die, and 1 Dead Dog are currently in film festivals at this time.
Brain and 1 Dead Dog have both the won Best Comedy Feature in the circuit thus far. Brain winning the award in the Hollywood Horrorfest while 1DD won Best Comedy Feature in the Reykjavik Visions Film Festival. Daniel and 1DD also saw success in the Killer Valley Film Fest with the award for best actress and a nomination for best actor for Daniel. Daniel did not win best actress.
Daniel continues to learn his craft, continues to create new content at a high level and will continue to impress.
